press release Edwin Matthews, Fred Forsey & Harry Milanowski Buckhorn is the place to be on Saturday, July 23. Fiesta Buckhorn, a celebration of wine and food, will be in full swing at the Community Centre. The Gallery on the Lake will also be hosting a very special event headlining Edwin Matthews, whose efforts ensured the long-term viability of the Community Centre and who dreamed, built and created the Gallery on the Lake. The exhibit entitled "Trio" will be launched at the Gallery on the Lake on July 21. This is a homecoming of sorts for Mr. Matthews who founded the Gallery in his home on Upper Buckhorn Lake before building the current magnificent facility with its worldwide reputation as the place to view and purchase fine art, from Canada's foremost artists. Edwin Matthews, who apprenticed with the late A.J.Casson, will be joined by friends and fellow artists Fred Forsey of Bobcaygeon and Harry Milanowski of Brampton. All of the artists are widely known for their landscapes, however Harry Milanowski's "Bustin' Loose" which shows a rider on a bucking horse is particularly striking. The artists will demonstrate their techniques on July 24 from 1:00 - 4:00 p.m. A Meet the Artist opening and reception will be held in the Gallery Rotunda on Saturday, July 23 from 1:00 - 4:00 p.m. In honour of the occasion the artists will be giving away signed prints, free to the first 100 patrons in attendance at the reception. The Gallery on the Lake is open 7 days a week from 9 a.m. - 5 p.m. We are located 30 minutes north of Peterborough on County Road 36, 3 kms east of Buckhorn.
