Lucy Manley and Poul Thrane Exhibit
To celebrate the Thanksgiving season Gallery on the Lake will feature an exhibit "Canadian Vistas" of the original oils and watercolours by Lucy Manley and Poul Thrane in the rotunda from October 9th to October 22nd.

Lucy Manley is a local artist residing in the Peterborough area. Her favourite medium is oil and she enjoys creating landscapes using bold colours to depict mostly rural scenes in any season of the year. Using her jeep as a mobile studio, painting on location is where most of her work is created. Lucy has studied under such renowned artists as Edwin Matthews and the late David Bierk. She has won many awards for her work and was also an Artist in Residence for two summers at Bon Echo Provincial Park.

Poul Thrane is another artist who prefers to paint on location in order to capture the immediate response to a scene in nature. He hopes to convey those feelings to the viewer by painting oil and watercolours in a loose impressionistic style. His works include many Canadian scenes from the Maritimes to the Pacific. A native of Denmark, Poul studied under Danish artists before moving to Canada where he continued his artistic training at the Ontario College of Art. His works can now be found in many corporate and private collections throughout Canada and he has won numerous awards in juried exhibits.

Gallery on the Lake, located on County Rd. 36 just east of Buckhorn, is open every day from 9:00 - 5:00 with free admission.
