press release

Tammy Laye & Christine Wilson
If you haven't been to Buckhorn's Gallery on the Lake this year, now is the time to go. A new exhibit featuring the superb artistry of Tammy Laye and Christine Wilson will be on display from August 28th to September 17th.

Tammy and Christine both paint in similar styles of realism, showing their love of nature, but they each have their own favourite ways of expressing themselves in their art.

Tammy Laye's works brim with her love of children and pets, a reflection of her own personal source of fun and entertainment from her studio home nestled among acreage of trees and fish ponds. Her paintings have won numerous art awards throughout Canada and the U.S. The Gallery has a number of her original oil pieces on display in the rotunda. Also available is her 2005 calendar, popular as gifts for those "hard to buy for" people.

Christine Wilson is also a painter whose love of nature is reflected in her work. She has a unique style and enjoys using acrylics on masonite. Rather than using a traditional frame, she has cleverly surrounded some of her paintings with an artist's pallet. Born in Germany and raised in the Middle East and Asia, Christine developed an early interest in art as well as an appreciation for the infinite variety of life offered by nature. Her works can be found in numerous private collections around the world.

Come and meet Christine and Tammy in the Gallery rotunda on Saturdays August 28th and September 4th from 1:00 - 4:00 p.m.

Gallery on the Lake, located on County Rd. 36 just east of Buckhorn, is open every day from 9:00 - 5:00 with free admission.
