Mitch Keirstead ~ "Eclectica" Gallery on the Lake in Buckhorn is presenting a new exhibit entitled "Eclectica" by Mitch Keirstead from October 9 - 27th. This display, which features all original oils, represents a cross section of his work, with a range of subjects from a whimsical dragon to Mennonite farmers to Niagara vineyards. "Around the Bend" is reminiscent of many Sunday walks made by the artist through a farmer's sugar bush to what would become one of the artist's favourite places.	Around the Bend
The Keirstead name is synonymous with fine art, and Mitch's work is a tribute to his family's tradition. Mitch, a full time artist for 30 years, is probably best described as a "life painter." Although his work is usually based on the landscape, with a dramatic interplay of light and shadow, its focus is often the vitality of people at work or at play. His painting style employs painting knives and oils applied in a remarkably delicate impasto technique. With over 60 "one man" shows to his credit, Mitch is represented in many corporate collections, including The Royal Bank, Canadian Tire Corporation, and is listed in "Canada's Who's Who". Mitch will be at Gallery on the Lake to meet the public on Thanksgiving Sunday, October 9th from 1 p.m.- 4 p.m. Admission is free. The Gallery is open every day from 9 to 5.
