Jennifer Lawton The Gallery on the Lake proudly presents new works by Jennifer Lawton. The exhibit entitled "The Essence of Water" opens Sunday October 7th (Thanksgiving Sunday) with the opening reception and Meet the Artist from 1:00- 4:00 p.m. Artist's Statement - The Essence of Water Water - that transparent liquid; the substance of life. It makes up tears, rain, rivers, lakes, seas. It runs still or can create waves of greatness: tsunamis. Water has always created a fascination within me. I am drawn to its movement, sound, sparkle, reflections.

I revel in its cascading over me in a shower, or when I glide through it while swimming. It is a constant subject for both my photography and paintings. This show represents my ways of seeing water, and interpreting it. There are oil paintings of actual representation, and paintings of abstraction, bringing forth only the suggestion of water's essences. There are multi media works that comment on man's destruction of this resource, and then iconic reminders of the beauty of the creatures that live within it.
