Silvia Armeni ~ Celebrating 30 Years
Silvia Armeni celebrates her achievements as an artist at a fabulous new exhibit at the Gallery on the Lake.

Silvia moved to Canada in 1979 where she found the perfect environment to fulfill her lifelong ambition to become a professional artist. Frequent trips to her beloved Italy are the inspiration for her creation of collages of ancient medieval Italian suburbs or typical Venetian canals, which take shape with the precision of an architectural drawing. Infinitesimal bits of coloured fabric no bigger than a nail tip are carefully glued together creating scenes with a special luminosity and vivacity. The same palette of colours and details are found in her oil paintings where she depicts Canadian country scenes, bringing her people and their rural environments warmly to life. Recently she found a new exciting way to express herself through watercolours, revisiting her favourite subjects.

Silvia will be joined by Robert Hudyma, an emerging stone sculptor who has studied and mentored under master sculptor, the late E.B. Cox. Robert works with semi-precious stones such as lapis lazuli, creating forms that are wondrous to see, hold and touch.

Silvia Armeni's exhibit runs from August 13th to September 2nd.
