| Jennifer Lawton |
| Jennifer was born in Toronto in 1954 and was raised in Etobicoke before moving away for university and her art career. She has spent the last 24 years living in the Toronto area, with the exception of 1992, when she moved to and taught in Canberra, Australia. Jennifer’s recent work is made up of big, bold, colourful paintings of flowers and fruit. During the summer months Jennifer travels to Monet’s Gardens in Giverny, France where she teaches painting and draws inspiration from the beautiful surroundings. Jennifer uses her many camera as a composite tool. She will search out or arrange “little sections of life”- tiny areas where light and shadows create strong visual design. Jennifer is interested in exploring ‘electric colours’ on traditional shapes. Jennifer’s oil paintings have been shown and sold throughout galleries in Eastern Ontario as well as private showings in her studio. She has art hanging in private collections throughout Eastern Ontario, the United States as well as Australia. The Gallery On The Lake is proud to show her work . |
