Tim Packer & Jeremy Browne

Buckhorn's Gallery on The Lake has done it again.

In typical leading-edge fashion, the Gallery will host an exhibit by its two best-selling artists Jeremy Browne and Tim Packer.

The exhibition of approximately 30 landscapes by Canadian Painters Tim Packer and Jeremy Browne will open on Saturday June 4th at The Gallery on the Lake. The artists will be present for the opening reception which begins at noon.

Browne's moody scenes of Ontario's stone and farmhouses against a backdrop of a blustery winter-storm or a dark night, present a sharp contrast against the bold Ontario landscapes of Tim Packer.

Tim Packer is an internationally acclaimed artist from Whitby, Ontario. He is a past president of the Canadian Society of Painters in Water Colour, a Senior Signature Member of the Canadian Institute of Portrait Artists and the Past President of the Oshawa Art Association. Although Packer initially achieved notoriety as a water-colour painter it is his bold Ontario Landscapes in oil that have catapulted him to the forefront of Canadian Art. The Gallery on the Lake is also responsible for the launch of Packer's fast-paced and stunningly successful career as an oil landscape artist. According to The Gallery on the Lake owner Esther Inglis... "Packer's work has become so popular that his paintings are often delivered fresh from the easel and are sold before they have time to dry. This show will feature fall and winter scenes with his trademark sun through the trees effect." Packer has recently launched a line of high quality giclees to meet the demand for a "Packer"

Jeremy Browne grew up in Brampton Ontario where he developed a love for the rural outdoors and also for expressing himself through art. Browne paints landscapes in their barest forms, to ensure that there is nothing to hide the natural beauty of rural scenes. His main goal within these paintings is to capture the textures and ever-changing light that these scenes present. For this exhibit Browne has created a body of work that concentrates on the hours between dusk and dawn, as he has striven to find a new way to express the hours during which most people are asleep. Browne himself claims "From Ontario to Pennsylvania I continue to look for the farms and barns that dot the countryside. Over the years one can't help but notice how much more difficult it is becoming to find these buildings. As more and more condos and sub-divisions are built we lose another part of our storied heritage. As I continue to paint our rural landscape I can't help but hope that in my own small way I am helping to preserve these areas for future generations to enjoy."
