“Lake Life”Press Release FOR IMMEDIATE RELEASE BUCKHORN, CANADA, July 18, 2018/- David Grieve, Peter Rotter and Joe Sampson – three of Canada’s top emerging artists- have joined forces to present an exhibit of brand new works depicting the areas surrounding their lake homes in the Kawarthas. Gallery On The Lake is proud to present ‘Lake Life” an exhibit that captures the artists’ connections of the area’s natural beauty . The artists are renowned in Canada and internationally, each winning multiple awards in their own right. The Opening Reception and Meet the Artists event will be held on July 28 from 1-4pm. The exhibit continues to August 31 in the main exhibit rotunda. David Grieve’s paintings offer bold brush strokes with vibrant or sometimes muted colour palettes of his beloved Jack Lake . Here are David Grieve’s comments on two of his paintings: “ Dam side “Admiring the shore during the height of the colours, while sitting in a boat on a warm autumn day. There are few better places to find yourself! “Warm Morning Glow”, On Jack Lake there is an island that people leap off of, into the lake. This scene captures the moments as the morning sun begins to shine on the trees perched on its rocky outcrop, as it prepares to host more summer swimmers. Peter Rotter has been connected to Stony Lake since childhood, and now has a lakeside home on its shores. Peter’s artwork offers a quieter more minimalist approach to lake and forest scenes that evoke past and current memories of this most iconic landmark in the Kawarthas. Peter Rotter is a multiple award winner of the Best in Show award at the McMichael Gallery’s Autumn Art Show, for his unique style of painting the Kawartha Landscape Joe Sampson is known as the “Water Guy”. He is renowned for his paintings of quiet lakes; roaring surf and the islands, bays and shorelines in Canada, the Caribbean or the Mediterranean where he was born. In addition to collaborating in their love of painting and exhibiting together, the three artists consider themselves best of friends, constantly provide each other with support and inspiration ,and, are often referred to as “The three Amigos”. Through the skillful use of manipulating oil paint colours, each of the three artists gestures are bold, captivating and serene and offer a unique take on trees, windswept pines, endless waters and escarpment forests.
